Mille Fleur d'Uccle: A Unique Speckled Bantam

Mille Fleur d'Uccle chickens have brown plumage with some orange undertones, highlighted by black, silver, and white on their tails and wing tips. Males have brighter orange undertones, while females are typically more buff. They are covered by a beautiful speckled pattern.

A hallmark of the Mille Fleur d'Uccle bantam is their muffed cheeks and feathered feet. This booted bantam has a fluffy and charming appearance that makes them a fan favorite among backyard hobbyists. They are also a bit lower to the ground than other bantam breeds.

In cold or wet conditions, their feathered feet will require extra care. They may need to be trimmed and groomed occasionally to prevent dirt and mites from building up.

The Mille Fleur d’Uccle bantam produces small white or creamy tinted eggs. If kept in optimal conditions, they have a fair egg yield between 100-120 per year.

This is a friendly breed and they make excellent pets. Mille Fleurs are not suitable for extreme climates. In general, bantam chickens are more likely to go broody.
