By placing an order with Myers Poultry Farm LLC, you agree to the policies outlined below. These policies apply to all customers and all orders. Policies may be updated at any time without notice. Our policies are designed to set clear expectations, protect the health and welfare of our poultry, and ensure a fair experience for all customers.

Credit Card Payments

Website orders are charged at checkout.

Phone orders are charged approximately two weeks before the scheduled hatch/ship date.

Phone orders require payment information at the time the order is placed. Payment will be processed no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled hatch date.
Checks and Money Orders

Accepted when submitted with an order form or catalog.

If pricing increases after submission, an invoice will be issued for the remaining balance.

If pricing decreases, you will receive a refund in the form of a check.
Large or Bulk Orders
Customers planning multiple large orders during the season should contact our office directly. Discounts may be available based on order size, frequency, and poultry type as long as order minimums are met.
Ordering, Shipping, and Arrival
Ordering and Availability
Orders may be placed:

Inventory is adjusted as orders are received. Hatch and ship dates are estimates only and may change due to hatch results, weather, availability, or other factors beyond our control.

Rarely, less chicks hatch than expected, which can cause last-minute availability issues. This may require your order to be shifted to the next available week. Customers will be notified of any changes.
Customer Responsibility:
We use the email and phone number that you provide to communicate with you about your order. It is important that it this information is correct.

Please monitor email and voicemail closely during the week you are expecting birds. Most communication is sent by email, with phone follow-up when needed.

It is the customer’s responsibility to give our staff the correct information in order to contact you and ship your birds to the correct location.
Partner Hatcheries:
Some orders are fulfilled through NPIP-certified partner hatcheries, which may be located outside Pennsylvania.
Order Review and Confirmation
All orders are manually reviewed.

If no changes are required, a paid invoice is emailed

If changes are needed, we will contact you to discuss options.
Even after confirmation, orders may still require adjustment due to factors outside our control.
Shipping Confirmation and Tracking
On ship day, you will recieve an email with USPS tracking information.
Important notes:

USPS tracking is auto-generated and often does not reflect real-time delivery.

Live poultry is prioritized and frequently arrives sooner than tracking suggest.

Typical transit time is 1-3 days.
If birds have not arrived within three days of shipment, contact us immediately at 814-539-7026 or customercare@myerspoultry.com.
USPS Shipping
-
USPS is the only carrier that ships live poultry in the United States.
-
Once birds are in transit, we cannot provide live updates or reroute shipments.

Regardless of the shipping label used (USPS Priority or USPS Ground), live poultry is handled as a priority live shipment by USPS and receives preferential handling compared to standard mail.

FedEx is not available in our area for live poultry shipments.
Hatching and Shipping Schedule
-
All day-old poultry ships Monday- Wednesday.
-
Birds ship the same day they hatch.
-
Federal holidays and weather events may require schedule adjustments.
Arrival times vary and cannot be guaranteed.
Arrival and Post Office Pickup
-
Ensure your contact information is accurate so the post office can contact you immediately when your birds arrive and are ready for pickup.

Birds typically arrive in the morning but may arrive later in the day.
Failure to pick up poultry within 24 hours may result in re-homing by USPS.
Orders not picked up are excluded from the 48-hour livability guarantee and are not eligible for refunds or replacements.
Post Office Pickup Guidelines
To ensure a smooth pickup:

Notify your post office ahead of time.

Plan flexibility during arrival week.
-
Arrange a backup person if needed.
-
Keep birds out of direct sunlight.
-
Avoid sudden temperature changes.
-
Have brooders pre-heated and ready.
-
Offer water immediately upon arrival.
Weather and Packing Procedures
All poultry is packed according to current and forecasted weather conditions.
Weather-Based Packing
-
Summer shipments include increased airflow to prevent overheating.
-
Cold-weather shipments include heat packs and denser packing for warmth.
In cases of extreme weather, orders may be delayed or rescheduled at our discretion to protect bird welfare.
Packing Standards
-
Breeds and sexes are not individually marked unless requested in advance.
-
HydroGel is included for shipments outside Zone 1.
-
Turkeys always receive HydroGel.
-
Box size and ventilation are adjusted based on bird count and weather.
Guarantees and Policies
-
Sexed poultry carries a 90% accuracy guarantee.
-
This means that for every 10 chicks ordered, at least 9 will be the correct sex.
-
Due to limitations of vent sexing and feather sexing methods, a small margin of error is industry-standard. We will not issue a refund for sexing that falls within the 90% range.

If you recieve more than a 10% error in sexing, please contact us with sufficient documentation and we will work with you to come to an appropriate resolution. Due to biosecurity measures, we cannot accept returns on inaccurately sexed chicks.

Partial refunds or credits may be issued at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.

Photos are required for gender accuracy claims.
Quality and Safety

Poultry will match website descriptions.

Shipping minimums are strictly enforced.

Shipping minimums cannot be waived.
Myers Poultry is NPIP certified. Documentation is available upon request at no charge.
Myers Poultry offers optional vaccinations for certain poultry, including Marek’s disease and coccidiosis, where applicable. Vaccines are administered according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
Important notes regarding vaccinations:

Vaccines are preventative measures only.

Vaccination does not guarantee immunity to diseases.

Vaccines do not treat existing illnesses or active infections.
Delivery Alternatives
Custom Delivery
Custom delivery is available for large orders using poultry-specific transport vehicles. Call 814-539-7026 for availability.
Dealer Pickup or Delivery
We partner with dealers throughout the East Coast. Dealers may offer pickup or delivery for a fee. Pricing and availability vary by dealer. See our dealer page for more information.
Refunds, Replacements, and Death Loss
Myers Poultry will provide refunds and replacements to customers who experience death loss, so as long as their account is in good standing and they have provided sufficient evidence that the death loss occurred due to factors beyond their control.

Death loss must be submitted within 48 hours of poultry arrival.

Photos may be required.

As long as death loss was submitted within the 48-hour window, our refund and replacement policy will be honored, regardless of whether our team returns your call or email within the 48-hour period.
Exceptions may be reviewed at our discretion.
Policy Abuse
If we have reason to suspect that our refund/replacement policy is being abused, or there is a pattern of behavior we deem to be suspicious, we reserve the right to refuse further refunds and cancel your account with us.

Customer Responsibilities
Accurate Information
It is the customer’s duty to provide correct shipping and contact details. Losses caused by incorrect information are not covered.
Proper Care

Customers are responsible for proper brooder setup, heat, water, and nutrition.

Losses due to negligence are not covered.
-
Heat lamps are strongly recommended for shipped poultry during the first few days.
Risk Management
The customer understands and agrees that the handling of live birds may result in illness or disease, including but not limited to salmonella, E. coli, and histoplasmosis. The customer accepts all risks and hazards associated with purchasing and caring for live poultry from Myers Poultry Farm, LLC. The purchaser shall hold harmless Myers Poultry against any and all costs, including loss and liability, as well as attorneys’ fees for personal injury or property damage. The customer also accepts liability for personal injury or property damage brought against them by a third party exposed to our goods and or services.
Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling live poultry, and take precaution when cleaning or maintaining areas in which poultry live.
Cancellations

Cancellations must be called in during business hours.

A 10% cancellation fee will apply to all cancelled orders.

Orders cancelled within two weeks of shipment may be non-refundable.

Orders cannot be cancelled on the day of hatch.
Returns
Live Poultry
Live poultry cannot be returned under any circumstances due to biosecurity risk.
Products
Myers Poultry will accept returns for poultry supplements and products, so long as the following conditions are met:

Items may be returned within 30 days of purchase.

Items must be undamaged, unused, and still in the original packaging.

Customers are responsible to pay for return shipping unless the item was damaged or incorrect.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method and will be processed within 7–10 business days.
If one of your products is damaged or incorrect upon arrival, please document the damage and contact us as soon as possible so we can assist you.
