This farm-to-table bird is hardy, resilient, and ideal to raise in any backyard setup. Also known as Kosher Kings or Royal Grey broilers, depending on the parent stock and hatchery used.

Grey Broiler chickens stand out against traditional white broilers. This breed is a cross, so every chicken will present differently, but most have grayish plumage with silvery white and black barred feathers. Occasionally, they may even have some red feathering or highlights mixed in. Our broilers have yellow beaks, feet, and shanks.

Grey meat birds are active and curious, making them a good fit for free-range or pastured poultry settings. When allowed to live outdoors, they will naturally forage for bugs and vegetation, which can lead to a more flavorful and nutrient-dense product.

Before putting your birds on pasture, keep your baby chicks in the brooder for at least three to four weeks. They should have some adult feathers growing in before moving outside. Ideally, conditions should be dry and warm, with temperatures closely matching the temperature in their brooder.
