Sage Egger Chicks

Product ID: 2SE
The Sage Egger is a hybrid laying hen developed for dependable egg production and unique egg color. These hardy, adaptable egg layers are prized for the soft green eggs they typically lay, and each bird displays its own unique plumage.

Sage Egger Chicks for Sale: Green Egg Layers

Our Sage Egger hens lay large green-tinted eggs, often in a sage or light green hue that stands out in the egg basket. While most hens are green egg layers, a percentage may produce light or dark brown eggs due to natural variation within the cross.

With optimal care and climate conditions, growers can expect an egg yield between 290-300 eggs per year. They typically do no go broody.

As a hybrid cross, each Sage Egger will be a one-of-a-kind. Feather colors and patterns vary, though most birds will display darker feathering. Traits such as comb style, feather shading, and markings will differ across your flock.

Sage Egger chickens are generally friendly, curious, and easy to manage, making them a good choice for beginners. These birds do well in free-range or pasture-based systems, where their strong foraging instincts really shine.

Average mature weight for males is 7 lbs, females average 5.5 lbs.
