Is a Mini Classic just a larger turkey processed early? 

No. A Mini Classic is genetically smaller-framed; it is not simply a young Broad Breasted White.

You can butcher nearly any turkey breed early to produce a lighter bird; however, a young turkey from a larger-framed breed is not the same as a Mini Classic. A larger turkey needs time to grow into its frame and develop breast and leg meat. When that bird is butchered early, a greater portion of its finished weight is still bone. You may reach the desired number on the scale, but the carcass will not be as filled out as a turkey bred to finish at that size.

Can Mini Classic turkeys be raised on pasture?

Pasture does not replace balanced feed.Their smaller size also makes them easier to move between pasture areas and handle during daily chores.

Although foraging adds variety to their diet, pasture should not replace a properly balanced turkey ration.
